- 9 stages of mitosis: interphase, prophase, early prometaphase, late prometaphase, metaphase, early anaphase, late anaphase, telophase, cytokinesis
- 10 stages of meiosis: interphase (stage of G1 phase), prophase I (leptotene), prophase I (zygotene and pachytene), prophase I (diplotene), prophase I (diakinesis), metaphase I, anaphase I, telophase I, anaphase II, telophase II and cytokinesis II
