Principle
The current-voltage characteristic of a wind turbine (wind
wheel) describes its behaviour under load, e.g. when different
types of lamps are connected. A lamp can be powered optimally by a
wind turbine if the resistance and nominal voltage match the
maximum of the power curve.In order to record the characteristic
curve, a resistance decade is connected to the wind turbine. The
resistance decade has 12 switch positions with different resistance
levels (also short-circuit and open). The values of these
resistances have been selected in a manner that ensures that the
course of the characteristic curve can be optimally represented.
Voltage, current, and power are measured with the aid of the Cobra4
Sensor-Unit Energy.
