Principle
Fuel cells also have losses, which means that it is impossible
to convert 100% of the gases into electrical energy. The aim of
this experiment is to determine the efficiency of the PEM fuel cell
in two different ways. The first part of the experiment describes
the determination of the energetic efficiency. It is the ratio
between the energy that is stored in the gases and the electrically
useful energy. Then, the Faraday efficiency is determined. It is a
ratio between the real gas quantity that is consumed and the
theoretical value that is calculated.
Benefits
- Part of a system solution - Easily expandable for further experiments
- easy teaching by using the demo board for demonstration
- Simplified implementation: all pre-settings already prepared
