Principle

At present, throughout Europe, relatively big metallic formations with three rotor blades can be found as wind turbines, although the windmills of the past had four blades and in other places even more rotor blades are common. Every design has its own individual advantages and can be regarded as suitable under the respective conditions. The aim of this experiment is study as to how the number of rotor blades affects the power of the wind turbine. For this purpose, two measurement series are recorded with different numbers of blades. In addition, the distance between the blower and the rotor blades is also varied in order to obtain a comparison of different wind speeds.

Benefits

  • Part of a system solution - Easily expandable for further experiments
  • easy teaching by using the demo board for demonstration
