Principle

When breathing, a distinction is made between chest breathing and abdominal breathing. In chest breathing, the ribs are lifted by muscles, the chest space is thereby enlarged. Through the "enlargement" air is said into the lungs like a bellows.

In this experiment, students investigate the working principle of a bellows. They observe chest and abdominal breathing by placing their hands on them and compare the Principle of a bellows with chest breathing.
